Monday, July 25:
My sister and I headed out to the eastern part of the state for a few days. Our first stop was the coastal town of Bath, which is near the Pamlico Sound.
Born in 1705, Bath is known for being the oldest town in NC.

It was nearing lunch time when we arrived, so we stopped at a roadside restaurant, which appeared to be the only one in the area.

The Visitor's Center is closed on Mondays, but they had a walking tour brochure and map conveniently located on the outside of the building. We decided to tour around the Historic District.

After our tour of Bath, we went to Goose Creek State Park in the town of Washington.

We had a room reserved for that night at an Econo Lodge in Williamston, NC. After checking in we drove around to find a place to eat.

We went to Mama's Pizza and shared baked ziti and bread with a side salad. It was very delicious.
After we ate, we stopped at Moratoc Park.
